Standards and audits

Requirements you have to prove

An auditor does not assess intentions, only records. Below are the standards our customers work to, with a list of what has to be measured, calibrated and documented.

Compliance

Instrumentation that passes the audit

Each standard puts the emphasis in a different place: one on furnace classification and the survey cycle, another on independent verification of the atmosphere. What they share is the demand for a measuring chain with current calibration and a record that cannot be altered after the fact. We supply both elements, together with the survey and calibration service.

01

NADCAP

Accreditation of special processes in the aerospace supply chain

The heat treatment audit refers directly to the pyrometry requirements, and its outcome depends above all on how complete the records are and on how current the calibration certificates are.

Products meeting the requirements
What is required
  • Furnace class and the assigned cycle of temperature uniformity surveys
  • Calibration of the measuring chains with certificates and maintained metrological traceability
  • System accuracy tests at the required intervals
  • Process recording with write protection and an archive ready to be shown
02

AMS 2750

Pyrometry in heat treatment for aerospace

The standard sets the requirements for sensors, instrumentation, system accuracy tests, temperature uniformity surveys and furnace classification. It also sets the calibration intervals and the rules for documenting the results.

Products meeting the requirements
What is required
  • Calibration of the measuring chains with a certificate
  • System accuracy tests in the required cycle
  • Temperature uniformity surveys with a full report
  • Process recording with write protection
03

CQI-9

Assessment of the heat treatment system in the automotive industry

It requires proof that the process is supervised and the results repeatable. Among other things the auditor checks the calibrations, atmosphere verification independent of the probe, the condition of the generator and the completeness of the records.

Products meeting the requirements
What is required
  • Gas analyser for independent verification of the atmosphere
  • Calibration of probes and instrumentation with documentation
  • Repeatable flow settings for the process gases
  • Archive of load cycles that can be printed
04

DIN 17052

Temperature uniformity in heat treatment equipment

The standard appears most often on the German market as the basis for furnace acceptance and for periodic confirmation of the working zone parameters.

Products meeting the requirements
What is required
  • Temperature uniformity survey kit with the required number of measuring points
  • Multichannel data logger and a survey report
  • Calibrated thermocouples and measuring chains
05

Ford W-HTX

Supervision of heat treatment processes in the Ford supply chain

The standard defines the type and frequency of process checks, laboratory tests and the scope of the documentation kept. Suppliers meet it alongside CQI-9.

Products meeting the requirements
What is required
  • A set frequency of atmosphere and temperature checks with the results recorded
  • Independent verification of the atmosphere with a gas analyser
  • Calibration of the instrumentation together with documentation
  • An archive of process records for every batch

Preparing for your first audit, or have you been given a non-conformity to close? We will go through the requirements with you point by point and show what is missing in the instrumentation and in the records.

Applications

Three routes to the same catalogue

Start from the process, from the standard you are audited against, or from your industry. Every route leads to the same equipment, described in the language you use on your own shop floor.

Equipment selection

We will check whether your instrumentation stands up in an audit

Tell us the standard you are audited against and your furnace fleet. We will point out which measuring chains need completing and propose a scope of surveys.
